Delay in releasing converted Themes.
As you may noted it has been some time since the release of Beam v2.00 but there still no Theme for it. We originally wanted to convert all five Themes in two months but once started we ran into few 3D-engine related problems as well as physics engine related. Sad, but all this affects the release date for Themes.
However we believe the first converted Theme will quite soon be released. After that things will go smoother.
We apologize for the delay and hope for your understanding.

Upgrading to Beam Screensaver v2.00.
We promised to release information for valuable registered users of first generation of Beam Screensaver on how to upgrade to the new one we released just recently.
Several options were looked at, but it turned out that the only way to make this finally happen is to:

Ask you to send us ‘Upgrade request’;

Send you special discount code so you can buy Beam 2.X at lower price.
Upgrade to Beam Screensaver v2.00 from any version of Beam (starting with v1.5) will cost you as low as 50% of the current price.

Attention! Deep space battle continues!
We are pleased to release final build of Beam Screensaver (v2.00)!
Many thanks to all who helped us to discover bugs and suggested improvements! Much appreciated!
We hope you will enjoy this release as much as you enjoyed previous ones. And don't forget to tell your friends about Beam (v2.00). :)

Preliminary plan for further updates is:
1. All the Themes available for Beam (v1.73) will be converted to format of Beam (v2.00) during the following one-two months and then we will start updating them to the latest eye-candy standards :)
2. Happy users of Beam (v1.73 and earlier versions) will soon be able to upgrade to Beam (v2.00) for only 50% of the full price. Details should be released shortly.
3. Site needs updates here and there, especially screenshots as there are no screenshots for Beam v2.00 yet, so we invite you to flight with the new Beam (v2.00) and see the eye-candy yourself.

First update of Beam Screensaver 2 is available for download.
List of changes includes:
- Added "Desktop" option under "Display mode" parameter. When set, Beam will use your current display resolution to run.
- Fixed screensaver startup crash when "Display mode" is set to "Fullscreen"
- Fixed Shield effect lag on ATI cards.
- Updated list of avaliable resolutions. Vertically aligned resolutions are now supported.

Beam Screensaver 2!!!
It happened! We are pleased to announce the release of Alpha version of Beam Screensaver 2.0.
This release is very important to us because we want the final version to be even more interesting and bug-free.
We very much welcome your enhancement suggestions and any feedback that might help us create best possible space battle action screensaver.
A few words on system requirements:
- GPU — with support for OpenGL 2.0 and GLSL.
- CPU — 1GHz or higher
- RAM — 256Mb or more
- At least Windows XP or newer

It's been very long since we updated our fabulous space battle screensaver. The time has come!
We are pleased to announce Beam Screensaver 2.0 — new generation of screensaver you know, love and still enjoy.
This version will be powered by totally new Engine with much more advanced functionality compared to previous engine. This means lots on amazing possibilities to us as well as those of you who might have the desire to create their own space battles.
While we prepare the release of preview (Alpha) version of new Beam, please take a look at the reworked versions of original space ships and tell us what you think of them.
